Roddick scrapes through to Vienna Open quarterfinals

Third seed Andy Roddick labored past Frenchman Richard Gasquet 6-7, 6-1, 6-3 on Thursday to reach the quarter-finals of the Vienna Open.

Fourth-seeded Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis lost 1-6, 7-6, 6-2 to Austrian Stefan Koubek while eighth-seeded Serb Novak Djokovic was beaten 6-3, 6-3 by Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland.

Argentine David Nalbandian, seeded second, eased through with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph over Austria's Oliver Marach.
