China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the Beijing Municipal Government, and the Beijing 2008 Organizing Committee (BOCOG) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on inspection and quarantine for the Beijing 2008 Games.

According to the MOU, the AQSIQ will take the initiative to set up a coordination team for the inspection and quarantine of the 2008 Games to fully engage in the work for the Beijing 2008 Games.

AQSIQ, the local government, and BOCOG will convene joint meetings and establish a "cooperation mechanism" to push forward the implementation of the strategic ideal of "New Beijing, Great Olympics".

AQSIQ Minister Li Changjiang said that the supervision and quarantine work will serve as an important window to reflect the concept of "People's Olympics".

BOCOG President Liu Qi said that the parties will study and formulate quarantine policies, examining methods and supervision measures to provide secure and comprehensive services for the Olympic personnel.
