China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced on Thursday that the Qikou 17-2 East Oil Field has been put into production. The output of this oil field is currently at 2,400 barrels.

The Qikou 17-2 East Oil Field is located to the southwest of Qikou 17-2 Oil Field. It has an average water depth of 5 to 7 meters.

To increase economic efficiency, CNOOC has designed an unmanned oil platform for this oil field, taking advantage of its closeness to other oil fields which can conduct long-range operations in daily production.
