The Chinese entrepreneurs' confidence index rose 5 points in the third quarter over the same period last year to 132.6 points, according to the latest report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The index measures the views and expectations and overall confidence of entrepreneurs concerning the economy and the country's macro policies.
Official figures show the second quarter confidence index was 132.5 points.
The NBS survey revealed the confidence index of entrepreneurs in large companies jumped 7.8 points over the same period last year to 145.6 points but was down 1.3 points in the second quarter. Confidence in small and medium sized companies rose slightly to 119.0 points and 125.7 points, respectively.
The confidence level of entrepreneurs working in the manufacturing and real estate sectors declined 1.4 points and 1.7 points from the second quarter to 128.3 points and 131.0 points.
The report showed that the confidence index of entrepreneurs in all sectors increased over the same period last year.
Compared with the second quarter, the confidence index of entrepreneurs in state-owned enterprises rose 3.4 points to 134.6 points, cooperatives stood at 115.8 points and overseas-invested companies dropped 1.3 points to 138.3 points.
The index is based on a survey of 19,500 enterprises nationwide.
