Ten people were confirmed hit by dengue at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Monday, Indo-Asian News Service reported.
"Currently we have 45 patients of dengue, of which 20 are from the AIIMS campus, including resident doctors, students and support staff," said D.K. Sharma, medical superintendent of AIIMS, the famous medical school and hospital here.
On Sunday, the hospital confirmed 35 dengue patients, including 18 from the campus.
An AIIMS student, Kamal Raj Kiran, died on Saturday of the deadly fever. Two medical students were also shifted to the intensive care unit of the hospital.
Meanwhile, the city government has issued notices to more than 15 hospitals, including some top private ones, for not doing enough to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes.
The notice asked the hospitals to destroy mosquito breeding grounds at their campuses, a health official said.
Fountains at hospitals were among the favourite breeding places for mosquitoes, he said.
Delhi has recorded over 460 dengue cases so far this year and 10 deaths.
The dengue virus spread through the bite of the female Aedes mosquito, primarily Aedes Aegypti, which breed in clean stagnant water.
