A Venezuelan girl came out at the top on Sunday evening at the 2006 Miss Globe International Beauty Contest held in Butrint in southern Albania, local media reported on Monday.
Viviane Lisbeth Ramos Puma, 16, from Venezuela, was crowned the beauty queen, while Marian Karian Cabrera, a 24-year-old from Spain, came in runner-up, with the 17-year-old Silvi Skenderaj from Albania in the third place.
A total of 42 contestants across the world took part in the pageant. About 1,500 spectators watched the show at the antique theatre of Butrint, a town on the east shore of the Straits of Corfu.
Miss Globe International, also known simply as Miss Globe, is a beauty contest, which is annually held in eastern Mediterranean region.
It is the third time in a row that Albania hosts the event.
