EU to investigate secret CIA jails in Poland

вторник, 07 ноября 2006 06:27:05

A delegation of the European Council will arrive in Warsaw on Tuesday to start a three-day probe into alleged secret CIA prisons in Poland, the Polish Press Agency reported.

The delegation of the special committee of the European Council, in charge of the investigation into the CIA-run secret jails in Europe, hoped to interrogate some related polish citizens during its visit to the country.

Polish Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski warned on Monday that the committee had no right to summon polish citizens.

The Polish authorities denied that the CIA had established secret prisons for terrorist suspects since it was accused of running secret CIA jails last November.

Dick Marty, a member of the European Council, said in his report in July that 14 European nations had agreed that the CIA could transfer terrorist suspects or operate secret jails within their territories.
