Unknown gunmen fired shots at Bangladeshi former Law Minister Barrister Moudud Ahmed's residence in the capital of Dhaka Saturday night, leaving a police constable wounded.

A personal staff of Barrister Moudud said two gunmen riding a motorcycle fired three shots at the house at 159 Gulshan Avenue at about 8:35 p.m. (1435 GMT) immediately after Moudud and his wife left the house for a dinner party.

All the three bullets first hit the boundary wall and rebounded, hitting the head of constable Quamrul Ahsan. As other police guards tried to resist the attackers, they made their safe passage by firing two shots in the air.

Quamrul's injuries were not serious.
