Moore probably to miss Australia's match against Paraguay
Former captain Craig Moore might be singled out of the soccer friendly between Australia and Paraguay on Saturday after he missed a training session and several public appearance commitments.
The Newcastle United defender, a candidate to captain the Socceroos for the friendly in Brisbane, missed his flight from Sydney on Wednesday, with local media reporting he had spent the night drinking after his arrival from England on Tuesday.
"Craig Moore failed to arrive at the team assembly in Brisbane in time for training and other commitments," a Football Federation Australia (FFA) statement said.
"This is a breach of the National Team Players' Agreement and Code of Conduct, and the FFA is undertaking a process with him to determine how this occurred, before deciding on the action to be taken."
The friendly had been regarded as a celebration of Australia's World Cup campaign.
The 30-year-old, capped 31 times, was also due to captain the side in Wednesday's Asian Cup qualifier against Bahrain in Sydney.
Australia have already qualified for their debut appearance in the Asian Cup finals next year, to be held in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.
