Chinese insurer helps power company expand in ASEAN

China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation (Sinosure) signed an insurance policy with China Huadian Corporation here Thursday to insure a power plant project in Indonesia.

The 247-million-dollar project in Asahan, Indonesia, is the first overseas investment project by Huadian, one of China's biggest electricity supplier.

Xu Fuxing, Sinosure vice general manager said at the signing ceremony that Chinese companies have demonstrated strong competitiveness in investing in hydropower, thermal power projects in southeast Asia and Sinosure supports large Chinese companies to expand overseas market.
