China's cartoon industry worth a further 100 billion yuan

China's cartoon industry will enter a golden age in the next 3 to 5 years, with experts predicting that the value of the cartoon market has the potential to grow by 100 billion yuan.

There are 500 million consumers of cartoon products in China, of which 320 million are teenagers. The demand will push forward the development of China's cartoon industry, said Lv Xuewu, Dean of the Cartoon College at the Communication University of China, during a recent international cartoon industry forum.

China held 22 cartoon exhibitions and 10 cartoon forums in big cities such as Beijing and Shanghai during the national holiday. The State Administration of Radio Film and Television has named 15 state-level cartoon industry bases. Nearly 50 cities will help develop the cartoon industry during China's 11th Five-year Plan.
