Argentine yachtsman Carlos Espinola, Olympic gold medallist in the last three Games, told media on Monday he was going for gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
"The goal at Bejing is to win Olympic Gold. I would love that. But if we do not get gold, but still make it onto the podium it will be satisfactory," he said.
Espinola, from the northern province of Corrientes, has partnered with Santiago Lange - a bronze medal winner in the 2004 Athens Games, for the tornado class yachting.
Espinola is the only Argentine sportsman to win three medals in three consecutive Olympics: winning silver in both 1996 and 2000 for Mistral class windsurfing.
Speaking to press following a meeting with the nation's sports minister, he said "Beijing's climate is very different to the one we are used to. There will be little wind but very strong current."
Camau, as Espinola is known, will take part in the tornado class World Cup in San Isidro, in Buenos Aires state, from Dec. 1 to Dec. 10; competing against 24 crews representing 24 countries.
