At least one was killed, 17 others wounded when two booby-trapped trucks went off almost simultaneously outside two police stations in eastern Algiers overnight, witnesses said on Monday.
The witnesses said that one truck loaded with explosives detonated outside a police station in eastern suburb of Algiers, killing a civilian nearby and wounding 11 policemen.
In quick succession, the second truck bomb went off near another police station, wounding six others, they added.
The twin explosions occurred in suburb of Dergana, some 30 km east of the capital Algiers, where some Islamist groups has been seeking to set up a purist Islamic state.
