China Bluestar concludes purchase from French Rhodia

China National Bluestar (Group) Corporation singed an agreement with French specialty chemicals firm Rhodia on last Thursday to complete the acquisition of its program on organosilicone and sulfide in Beijing.

The purchase includes the patent, manufacturing equipment and distribution channels. This will make Bluestar, a domestic leader in organosilicone, an international organosilicone giant. It also makes it the largest Chinese company to invest in Europe.

Bluestar will produce 420,000 tons of organo-silicone monomer after the purchase, the third largest producer worldwide.

The agreement will boost the annual output of organosilicone to 400,000 tons and give Bluestar a technological and competitive advantage.
