Liverpool's Kewell likely to return in February

Liverpool's Australian midfielder Harry Kewell confirmed on Thurdsay that he will not play for Liverpool until next February.

The 28-year-old, who is recovering from foot and groin surgery in Australia, has not played for Liverpool this season.

His last meaningful action on the pitch came when his goal in the 2-2 draw against Croatia booked Australia's place in the second round of the World Cup finals in Germany.

Liverpool are 11th in the Premier League after nine games, 11 points adrift of leaders Manchester United and behind the likes of Reading, Portsmouth and Fulham.
