Three killed as train ploughs through taxicab in Bangladesh
Three people were killed when a train ploughed through a taxicab on a level-crossing in southeastern Bangladesh Wednesday, local news agency UNB reported.
Police said the train, "Sagarika Express", rammed the taxicab on the level-crossing in southeastern Chittagong district at about 9:30 a.m. (03:30 GMT), killing the three people on the spot.
The victims were identified as Ratan Majumder, 33, and Sadhan Barua, 30, distributors of Philips Company, and cabdriver Jan-e- Alam, 35.
Meanwhile, the railway authorities formed a three-member inquiry committee to probe the accident and suspended the gate man for his negligence of duty.
