Iran not to accept any suspension of uranium enrichment:top official

The Islamic Republic of Iran would never accept any suspension of uranium enrichment activities, a top Iranian nuclear official told local Fars news agency on Wednesday.

"We will not accept any climb down, and we are not going to accept any suspension," Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, deputy to chief nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani, was quoted as saying in an interview.

"The Western powers demanded us to suspend (uranium enrichment) for one month or two weeks, but this will not resolve anything," he added.

Rahmani Fazli's comments once again ruled out the rumor from Western media that Iran had almost been close to agreeing on a secret deal to suspend its enrichment activities for 90 days, in order for more talks with European countries.
