Five commando members wounded in bomb attack
Five police commando members were wounded when a roadside bomb went off near their patrol in southern Baghdad on Wednesday, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua.
The blast took place after midday on the main road in the Saidiyah neighborhood, the source said on condition of anonymity.
The death toll in Baghdad double blast that targeted the convoy of the Industry Minister, rose to 12 people killed, including two of his guards and up to 80 others wounded, the police said according to their latest reports.
Earlier, he said that 11 people were killed and 51 others wounded when a roadside bomb and a car bomb went off in short successive after the convoy of Fawzi al-Hariri, the Industry Minister, passed an area near the al-Masuodi School in Camp Sarah neighborhood.
The blasts also badly damaged a nearby building and several civilian cars, he said.
It was not clear whether the minister was in the convoy, which escaped the blasts, he added.
