The Dutch cabinet has decided to send 65 additional soldiers to the Afghan province of Uruzgan, Radio Netherlands reported on Friday.
The deployment of the troops, including security and logistics units, means other troops in Uruzgan can focus more on their main task of assisting with the province's reconstruction, said the report.
Another 65 soldiers who were to be withdrawn will stay on, according to the report. There are currently 1,400 Dutch soldiers deployed in Uruzgan as part of NATO's ISAF mission.
Defense Minister Henk Kamp said that the additional deployment does not require permission from parliament.
