The Angolan government has approved the draft 2007 State General Budget (OGE) estimated at 2.5 trillion Angolan kwanza (31.25 billion U.S. dollars) in an extraordinary session chaired by President Jose Eduardo dos Santos.
According to a communiqu issued on Thursday, this OGE will make possible the funding of actions on the holding of main functions of the State, namely the defence, security, health, education, basic sanitation, environment preservation, infrastructures and economic services.
Concerning the budgetary distribution, the social sector, with 28.1 percent of total expense, is still benefiting from the biggest portion, while the sphere of defence and internal order is contemplated with 12.7 percent.
At the end of the session, Angola's Finance Minister Jos' Pedro de Morais Junior told journalists that this amount doubles last year's budget, which shows the government's resolution to solve the problems of the population.
