The death toll rose to 11 killed and 51 others wounded when a roadside bomb and a car bomb blasts detonated coordinately near the convoy of the Industry Minister in eastern Baghdad on Wednesday, a well-informed police source said.

"A roadside bomb and a car bomb went off in short successive after the convoy of Fawzi al-Hariri, the Industry Minister, passed an area near the al-Masuodi School in Camp Sarah neighborhood," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The blasts also badly damaged a nearby building and several civilian cars, he said.

It was not clear whether the minister was in the convoy, which escaped the blasts, he added.
