China to continue efforts to rein in rising housing prices: Vice Premier

четверг, 19 октября 2006 04:24:05

House prices are still rising at a fast pace in some Chinese cities and the government should continue efforts to enforce its macro-control policies on the property market, according to Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan.

The government should strive to adjust the structure of the housing supply and ensure housing for low-income families, Zeng said on Tuesday.

Earlier macro-control policies have not been fully enforced and the market order should be further rectified, said Zeng.

The Construction Ministry, along with several other central departments, sent teams of high-level officials to eleven provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in late September to investigate how local governments have implemented its macro control policies aimed at cooling down the property market.
