The Zambian government said on Tuesday it is committed to providing a conducive environment aimed at attracting more foreign direct investment into the country.
Energy Minister Felix Mutati said here that the policy was aimed at making employment opportunities available to the people of Zambia.
He said the Zambian government was ready to provide extra incentives to companies that are seen to be adding values to the Zambian economy.
"It is a great encouragement to the government every time we see new products coming to the market. It is a sign of growth and it also demonstrates the confidence that investors have in our economy," he said.
The minister said it was government's desire to see Zambian produce goods competing at the same level as those from developed countries to give the country a competitive edge in today's global economy.
