Chinese shuttlers Lin Dan, Bao Chunlai and Chen Hong all won the first rounders of the men's singles at the 250,000 US dollars China Open badminton championships here on Tuesday.
Lin, winner of the Japan Open badminton tournament, took 31 minutes to put off Nakanishi Yousuke of Japan 2-0 (21-17, 21-15) as the 22-year-old Lin once took a 21-1 lead in the first set, and sealed the match breezily.
Hidayat Taufik, a strong rival of Lin, also won the first round by beating Chan Io Chong from Macau, China 2-0 (21-15, 21-10).
Lin just toppled Taufik two days ago to win the Japan Open badminton tournament title.
In other matches, Lin's teammate Bao Chunlai only took 23 minutes to beat Hsieh Yu Shing from Chinese Taipei 2-0 (21-9, 21-9), and Chen Hong stopped Hu He Maoni from New Zealand 2-0 (21-11, 21-14).
Wednesday will feature the 1/16 rounds of men's and women's singles and doubles as well as the mixed doubles.
