Costa Rica's drug control police said on Monday that they arrested a Spanish woman in San Jose's Juan Santamaria International Airport, who was trying to smuggle 9.6 kg of cocaine out of the country.
The woman, whose identity has not been revealed by the police, dissolved the cocaine in wine and carried the liquid in bottles in two suitcases.
The police said so far three Spanish citizens had been arrested for the same offense in Santamaria, the country's most important airport.
This year so far, some 59 foreigners have been arrested in cases related to drug smuggling, a crime which is punishable with up to 20 years in prison.
