Real Madrid, a team with players worth hundreds of millions of dollars, beginning with David Beckham, will enjoy an enviable security in Bucharest, Romanian national Rompres news agency reported on Monday.
The Galactics from Real Madrid arrived here last night for Tuesday's match with Steaua Bucharest, in group E of the Champions League.
The team of manager Fabio Capello will be accompanied over the whole duration of its stay by 100 gendarmes, while special security measures were taken at the hotel where they will be accommodated.
The Spanish delegation requested a room for each player. The life of the fans in quest of autographs will be hard, because Capello does not intend to take his pupils out in Bucharest.
The event of the year in Romania, Steaua-Real Madrid, has brought a record amount of money to the Romanian club: almost 2 million U.S. dollars, the tickets for the match having been sold out almost one month ago.
