Top seed Lin Dan wins Japan Open badminton title

World champion Lin Dan of China beat Indonesia's Taufik Hidayat to win the Japan Open badminton tournament men's singles title here on Sunday.

Top-seeded Lin beat the Indonesia Olympic champion Hidayat 16-21, 21-16, 21-3.

In the women's final, top seed Zhang Ning beat Xie Xingfang 21-11, 16-21, 30-29 in an all-Chinese affair.

Zhang, the defending champion, won her fourth title of the season, following victories at the German Open, Malaysia Open and Chinese Taipei Open.
