Israeli security forces nab a Palestinian en route to attack
In search of militants en route to carry out attack, Israeli security forces stormed Tuesday noon the community of Elad, about 20 kilometers east to Tel Aviv, and apprehended an unarmed Palestinian suspect, local daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported.
According to the report, after security forces were notified that a terrorist has entered the community, dozens of policemen and security personnel raided the haredi community of Elad and blocking the roads, searching the would-be attacker.
The searches concentrated on the eastern part of the community, near the seam line area, and resulted in the arrest of an illegal Palestinian alien, which allegedly intended to attack.
Eyewitnesses said that the forces went door to door with their gun drawn and faces masked, in search of the suspect.
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) just removed Tuesday the general closure, which was imposed on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip prior to the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur for fear of terror attacks.
The security establishment has received 17 specific warnings of intended terrorist attacks in Israel prior to Yom Kippur, that could include suicide bombings, shootings, rocket fire and kidnappings.
