Iraqi police found 14 bodies of kidnapped construction workers in a town north of Baghdad on Friday, a provincial police source said.

"Our police patrols of Duluiyah town, 90 km north of Baghdad, found the bodies of 14 construction workers kidnapped late Thursday," a source from the Salahudin provincial police told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

"Originally, there were 17 workers who were leaving for their homes in Balad town, some 10 km to the south, after a daylong work in Duluiyah on Thursday," the source said.

The destiny of the other three kidnapped is not known yet, the source added.

Violence rages in Iraq as sectarian killings, car bombings, roadside bombs cause dozens of Iraqi casualties daily.
