Digital system technologies have been introduced with a view to reducing difficulties surfaced in course of mountain trekking and mountaineering for the first time in Nepal.
The technology that includes various rescue instruments has been introduced by the United States based Back Country Access Incorporation.
At a function organized here Friday by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) , Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Pradeep Kumar Gyawali distributed these rescue instruments to Mountain Rescue Association and Nepal Tourism Board.
Gyawali said such technology will help mitigate risks in mountain trekking.
Stating that massive improvements have been brought about in tourism sector following the initiative taken for lasting peace after the restoration of democracy, he said it is right time to bring additional efforts to keep up the identity of Nepal in mountain trekking and mountaineering.
On the occasion, 10 instruments were distributed to Mountain Rescue Association and some four were given away to Nepal Tourism Board.
